Citizens Chase, Pin Suspected DUI Driver After Crash In Downtown Everett

The driver of a car got out and ran after crashing into a traffic control box near Wetmore and Hewitt Monday night but didn’t get far. Citizens nearby gave chase and pinned him down until Everett Police arrived.

The crash took out the traffic lights at Wetmore and Hewitt and also blocked the intersection. Everett Police had to tape off the area until the PUD could secure the power.

The car was involved in other hit and run incidents and was being followed by one victim at the time of the crash.

The driver was detained and the car impounded. There were no injuries.
