After firing shots the man reportedly put the pistol into a holster on his hip and walked into the store.
An Everett Police officer working off duty security at the store saw the man and began evacuating the store. The man went into the men’s restroom inside the store.
Multiple Everett patrol officers, some armed with rifles and at least one with a shield assisted in evacuating shoppers and employees from the store and when it was safe, confronted the man.
Police were able to determine the pistol was a pellet gun that resembled a semi-automatic handgun.
The man was taken from the store and was screaming at police who had him in custody.
An aid crew was called to check on the man who appeared to be having some sort of medical issue at one point.
The man did calm down and the aid crew left.
No one was hurt and the store was able to reopen after about 20 minutes. There did not appear to be any damage to property from when the man was shooting the pellet gun outside.
Everett Police booked the man into the Snohomish County Jail on unlawful discharge of firearm, carrying a concealed dangerous knife and drug paraphernalia possession. He’ll make an initial court appearance Monday.
