Stamp out hunger

Check your mail box today for this bag. Then fill it with food and set it out on Saturday for your letter carrier to pick up.

Letter carriers in Everett and beyond will be picking up donations of non-perishable food this Saturday in the annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.

If you haven’t been to your mail box in a few days take a look and you’ll likely see a plastic bag like the one pictured here on the left. If you are able, fill the bag with non-perishable food and set it out by your mailbox this Saturday.

For more than 25 years letter carriers in Everett have been participating in the annual Stamp Out Hunger drive on the second Saturday of May. Food collected will be taken to local food banks throughout the area.

If you are able to volunteer on Saturday United Way of Snohomish County is coordinating that effort. People are needed to run out and get food from mail carriers as their trucks fill with donations. People are also needed to help sort and manage food at the postal annex in Everett.

If you can help, check out the available shifts here. Volunteers need to register by Friday May 11th.
