On Wednesday two Seattle Police Department SWAT teams were in Everett as officers from Seattle PD wrapped up an investigation of an Everett man who had been selling training grenades converted into explosives along with stolen rifles and other guns to undercover officers since September of last year.

Wednesday evening the Seattle officers arrested the man near an address on Howard Avenue and yesterday he faced a district court judge who found probable cause to hold the man on suspicion of 9 counts of possessing incendiary devices along with additional counts of trafficking stolen property, unlawful possession of a firearm and other firearms violations. His bail was set at $100,000.00.

According to probable cause papers filed by Seattle Police the man on multiple occasions brought training grenades, black powder and fuses to undercover officers at hotels in Everett along with an assortment of rifles and handguns. The man reportedly told undercover officers he had access to more than 100 such devices. When an officer asked him to help arm one of the grenades he declined saying they were too unstable.

Formal charges are expected to be filed against the man next week.
