A look at the front of the SUV and pole
Some tense moments for a woman who was trapped in her SUV after it took out a power pole near 48th and Dogwood Drive in central Everett this afternoon.
The woman was driving north on Dogwood approaching Mukilteo Boulevard when she left the road and took out a set of mail boxes and then crashed into the power pole which came down on top of her SUV.
The woman stayed inside and firefighters talked with her while they waited for Snohomish PUD crews to shut off power.
Once power had been secured firefighters were able to get the woman out and she was taken by ambulance to Providence Regional Medical Center to be checked out.
No word on what caused her to leave the roadway.
PUD crews rerouted power to most of the neighborhood and were working this afternoon to replace the pole and repair downed wires to several homes.
