Proponents say this is the right population split for City Council Districts in Everett

On Wednesday night we reported that the Everett City Council was considering adding an extra session to address requests to put the current proposal by Everett Districts Now on the fall ballot.

That has now come to pass as the council will hold a public hearing and hear the 3rd and final reading on Council Bill 1707-30. Adopt Ordinance of the Everett City Council concerning a vote on the issue of creating districts to elect five or seven Everett City Council members and requesting that the Snohomish County Auditor place this measure on the ballot of the November 2017 ballot.

The special meeting will take place on Monday July 31st at 6:30 PM in the Everett City Council chambers at 3002 Wetmore. The meeting of August 2 will be cancelled. There is still the regular meeting of the council next Wednesday July 26th at 12:30 PM in the Everett City Council chambers.
