A 21-year-old Seattle woman is being held on half-a-million dollars bail after her arrest on attempted 1st degree robbery and drug possession charges. It follows an Everett Police sting yesterday.

The Everett Police Anti-Crime Team has actively been going after people bringing heroin and meth into Everett so when a Seattle dealer offered to sell a quarter of an ounce of heroin to someone she didn’t know was an Everett Police officer and arranged for the sale to take place in a central Everett parking lot, a sting was set up.

The Seattle woman arrived at her chosen location at the time she set and was promptly arrested by Everett Police. While part of the ACT team interrogated her at the Everett Police precinct other members obtained a search warrant for her car and found 40 grams of suspected methamphetamine and 18 grams of heroin. She also had a digital scale, drug packaging material and a ledger showing amounts sold or due. A loaded .38 revolver was found in her purse.

According to probable cause papers the woman told detectives she was going to rob the person who was going to meet her and she hadn’t planned on actually selling any of the drugs she had brought with her. She reportedly told detectives the guy was an “idiot” and after robbing him she was going to flee to Florida.

Everett District Court Judge Howard found there was probable cause to hold the woman for attempted 1st degree robbery, possession of heroin and possession of methamphetamine. He agreed with the Prosecutor’s request for $500,000.00 bond citing the loaded pistol and her stated intention to rob and then flee to Florida as reason for the high bail. The prosecutor’s office has three days to file formal charges or release the woman.

Everett Police Spokesman Aaron Snell tells MyEverettNews.com that the ACT unit will conduct a police sting like this as often as possible to spread the message that Everett is actively working to arrest anyone from anywhere trying to bring heroin, meth or other illegal drugs into the city.
