About a dozen protesters are outside of the SNBL USA facility in southwest Everett today drawing attention to the treatment of monkeys and other small animals inside the breeding and research facility. Carrying signs and some in costume the protesters want the facility shut down.

According to our news partner The Seattle Times, there is a complaint currently on file that alleges the Everett-based laboratory has repeatedly violated the federal animal-welfare law, citing the deaths of 38 primates. The Seattle Times posted a link to that complaint here.

Everett Police on scene told myEverettNews.com the people outside the facility are polite and have not caused any issues.
