It didn’t take long for Everett Police and a Sheriff’s K-9 to catch an Everett car crook Monday afternoon.

Around 5:30 PM a person called police to say he say saw his stolen car driving near Merrill Creek Parkway in Everett.

A short time later an Everett Police officer spotted the car north on Evergreen Way near Pecks drive.

Other Everett Officers and a Snohomish County Sheriff’s K-9 unit were in the general area.

The car thief tried to dump the stolen car in a lot across from Evergreen Lanes and run off on foot.

Not the best idea as the Sheriff’s K-9 was quickly on him and cornered the suspect on the west side of Evergreen Way near Barney’s Pastrami Dip just north of 52nd.

An Everett aid crew was called to check on the suspect after the K-9 contact and he was taken into custody by Everett Police.

The car was returned to the owner.
