Man Hit, Woman Held in South Everett Shooting

Editor’s Update 10:00 AM: Everett Police released more details on the shooting this morning. Based on the initial investigation, the victim and the suspect knew each other casually and were not in a significant dating relationship. They arrived at the victim’s residence after having been at a local bar and were seated in the victim’s vehicle in the driveway when an argument took place. The suspect was jealous over text messages the victim had been receiving from other women. The victim was in possession of a 9mm Glock handgun that was in the area of the driver’s compartment. The suspect took the handgun and shot the victim once in the abdomen. There were also multiple casings found in the driveway.

The victim received medical attention at the scene from Everett Fire Department personnel before being taken to the hospital. The suspect was arrested for Assault 1st Degree. She was cooperative and was taken to Everett PD’s north precinct to be interviewed by detectives. The woman was booked into the Snohomish County Jail on suspicion of 1st degree assault. No update on the victim. The woman is expected to make a first court appearance tomorrow.

Original Post 4:00 AM: About 3:00 AM Everett Police were called to a report of man hit by gunfire at a duplex on 5th Place west in south Everett.

Arriving officers located a man with a gunshot wound and called for medics.

The man was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett. No word on his condition.

A woman was detained by Everett patrol officers and major crimes detectives have been called.
