A man ended up in the hospital not jail after running from Marysville Police on southbound highway 529 into Everett this afternoon.

Shortly after 2:00PM a Marysville Police officer spotted a man in an SUV that had a warrant for his arrest. Instead of stopping when the Marysville cop tried to pull him over, the guy took off at a high rate of speed.

Marysville Police gave chase but called it off after it reached high speed on Highway 529 into Everett.

As Marysville officers got into to Everett they found the SUV failed to make a turn from 529 onto West Marine View Drive. The SUV took out a light pole and crashed into a tree next to the southbound on-ramp to Broadway from West Marine View Drive.

The driver had serious injuries and was taken by an Everett Medic Unit to Providence Regional Medical Center. Marysville Police say they’ll file paperwork through the courts for the driving and other charges.
