The intersection of Madison and Broadway is closed after a small garbage hauler and a Camaro crashed Monday afternoon.

The crash happened about 2:00 PM and sent the driver of the garbage hauler to Providence Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

Police detained the driver of the Camaro and were looking into whether drugs or alcohol were possibly involved.

Police don’t expect to open the intersection of Madison and Broadway until around 3:30 PM or so.

    Prayers for the injured Rubatino driver. We hope he will heal quickly and completely. If all drivers would just slow down a little it may save someone else from having to deal with a bad injury.

    Those little garbage carts do zip around all over the place, but yikes! That is a nasty looking accident.

      That’s a bad intersection, too. No protected left, and people blast through there all the time.
