Rain Damage Forces Everett Fred Meyer To Close

That heavy rain storm this morning was apparently too much for parts of the roof of the Fred Meyer Store on Evergreen Way.

The store had to be closed late this morning after rain leaked through the roof and onto power panels. Crews moved items from the coolers into refrigerated trailers behind the store as mechanical and electrical contractors worked to solve the power problem.

Snohomish PUD crews were also working on the power vault on Casino Road. No word when the store will reopen.

This is the second time in six months a power outage has closed this particular Fred Meyer store.
