A stolen car chased by Marysville Police ended up in the Snohomish River under the Hewitt Avenue Trestle Thursday afternoon.

Around 3:00 PM Marysville Police spotted a stolen Thunderbird in their city and followed it on southbound 529 into Everett.

Once the car got into Everett three Marysville Police cars tried to stop it but it took off southbound on East Marine View Drive.

There was a short pursuit which a Marysville Sergeant terminated due to safety concerns after the stolen car began driving recklessly.

About 45 minutes later Everett Police received a report of someone pushing a car into the Snohomish River on Railway avenue directly below the Hewitt Avenue Trestle.

Police located the car but the person who was seen pushing it into the river had run off. A K-9 was brought in to search the area but police were unable to locate a suspect. Dick’s Towing removed the car for Everett Police.
