6 Displaced As Fire Destroys South Everett House
The fire tore across the attic.
The Red Cross was being called out Saturday afternoon to help provide shelter for five adults and a child displaced after a fire tore through their home in the 10500 block of 19th Pl. West in south Everett. According to Everett Fire Marshal Rick Robinson the fire was believed to have started in a meat smoker on the back porch. There was one person home at the time of the fire and he was not injured. Damage is estimated at about $200,000.00. Everett Fire crews did a great job keeping the fire from spreading to a house on the south and a mobile home on the north of the house that was on fire. Both structures did suffer some heat damage. Crews from Fire District 1 and Mukilteo Fire provided mutual aid to Everett Fire. The fire was reported about 2:30 and crews cleared two hours later.
