Man Fleeing From Marysville Police Crashes Thru 529 Construction Site Over Snohomish River
The scene looking southbound onto the Snohomish River Bridge
The SUV tried to squeeze between vehicles on the bridge.
Had the SUV continued it would have gone right off the end of the bridge into the Snohomish River.
The Everett Police Traffic Investigations Unit was called out last night to the construction zone on southbound 529 at the Snohomish River Bridge. Shortly after 10:15pm Marysville Police began chasing an SUV south through their city. It left Marysville southbound on 529 at a high rate of speed and headed into Everett, running thru the closed signs on the highway, crashing into multiple vehicles and narrowly missing workers on the bridge. The driver jumped out of the SUV and ended up almost running off the open end of the bridge into the Snohomish River. He was reportedly tased by Marysville officers before finally being taken into custody. Here are a couple of pictures from the scene provided to MyEverettNews.com by Carla Vandiver, traffic supervisor on the project. Luckily no workers or officers were injured. The driver is expected to be booked into the Snohomish County Jail on multiple felony charges. Click photo to enlarge.
