Everett marijuana store

The store is expected to open sometime around the 15th of September.

A former Halal market at 1824 Broadway will become the first licensed retail marijuana establishment in the city of Everett. On August 14th, the Washington State Liquor Board issued the first Everett retail license to “High Society”. This morning MyEverettNews.com spoke with Neary, who is the store’s owner and she explained a bit about what people in Everett can expect when the store opens. “We’re going to sell marijuana and some marijuana-infused products,” said Neary. “We hope to be open sometime around the 15th of the month or shortly thereafter and will have between 15 – 19 employees that we hope to hire from the Everett area.” Yesterday the business received its business license from the city of Everett and Neary said she’s met with an Everett Police lieutenant who told her the department would be supportive of her business. When asked if she had ties to the Everett community Neary said no, she lives in Seattle, but chose Everett as a strategic business decision feeling she had a better chance to get a license in Everett as opposed to Seattle due to the sheer volume of applications made for potential Seattle locations. She says she’s been so involved in the State and local licensing application process that now she’s turning to her biggest issue which is getting enough state-approved product to meet the demand. Neary tells MyEverettNews.com the people she has met in Everett have been supportive and she wants people to feel free to just come in and ask questions once the store is open. “Don’t be scared of us,” she said. “We want to be a positive part of the Everett community.
