The Office of the Insurance Commissioner (OIC) serves as an advocate for the consumer, empowering and educating the public about insurance issues and health care. The OIC also oversees Washington’s insurance industry to ensure that companies, agents and brokers follow the rules, thereby protecting consumers.
The commissioner and agency executives meet with committee members twice a year to discuss key issues and developments within the industry.
“I am extremely honored to serve as an advocate for our industry and our clients,” says Claudia McClain. “As an independent insurance broker, I have always made it my goal to offer consumer education, build the best protection plan to meet both the needs and budget of our clients, and advocate for our customers. As a member of the OIC Agent/Broker Advisory Committee, I will do my best to bring the concerns of the consumer to the attention of the lawmakers
