Monday’s bombings at the Boston Marathon will not deter the 3rd annual Heroes Half Marathon set for Everett’s Waterfront on Sunday April 28th. Currently more than 1200 runners are signed up to compete and race director Lynne Hoskins says there’s room for another 800. “We’re shocked and are grieving for the people in Boston but our race will continue,” said Hoskins. “We set out to honor our military members and their families and that’s what we will do.” This is the 3rd year for the race which goes along the Everett Waterfront north to Highway 529 into Marysville and back along the Yellow Ribbon Highway. Organizers say the race helps to support the USO Northwest and Operation Homefront. In addition to the half marathon there is also a 10k course and a kids fun run. Applications to run will be accepted up to the morning of the race and more information can be had by calling 206-499-1903.
