There is no word yet on whether a search will resume on Saturday.
Everett Police Dive crews are still on Everett’s Silver Lake searching for a person believed to have drowned Friday afternoon. Divers from the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office are assisting Everett Police with divers, boats and a remote underwater video camera. Everett Police Lt. Robert Goetz who is coordinating the search confirmed for MyEverettNews.com that this was an observed drowning and is now a recovery effort. A witness called 9-1-1 around noon saying they saw someone drowning in Silver Lake. Police and Fire crews responded. Firefighters were able to mark the general area where the person went under. They towed back a small boat as well as some boots and a hat. People familiar with a person who reportedly went fishing and has not returned did identify some property. Goetz says the search will continue tonight until dark and then they will re-assess. We’ll update as more information becomes available.
