USS Shoup to Deploy From Naval Station Everett Wednesday

While maintenance issues have delayed the scheduled deployment of the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz, the USS Shoup will be heading out tomorrow. The Shoup and her crew of 300 will be heading to the Western Pacific. Kristin Ching, from the public affairs office at Naval Station Everett says the crew will be conducting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts. No word yet on when the Nimitz will deploy.
