Lombardo's plans to open in early May

When the former owner of The Pointe After Casino announced plans to change his business on the west side of Paine Field to a strip club called the Black Pearl, there was a huge outcry from citizens in Mukilteo. The strip club plan was turned down by the Snohomish County Auditor’s Office. Instead, the word is out that Lombardo’s Pizzeria will be moving 20 blocks or so down the Speedway from their current location near Highway 99, to take over the building. Lombardo’s owner, Mike Skeffington, says they hope to open in early May. “We’re excited to be moving closer to Mukilteo”, said Skeffington, “We’ve been in our current location for 15 years and the time was right to make a move.” He says they plan to expand the business into a full sit down restaurant and extend their delivery area to more of Everett and all of Old Town Mukilteo. As far as taking over a place that was eyed as a strip joint, “I get calls every day from people thrilled to see us moving into that building.” The new location will be about twice the size of his old place and while his staff of 10 all plan to make the move down with him, Skeffington says he plans on hiring more workers to cover his new dining room. You can follow the progress of the move on Lombardo’s Facebook Page. In addition to Lombardo’s another new business called The Sports Connection will also be opening in part of the building.
