How Cool Should Everett TV Be? (Did you even know the City had its own TV Channel?)

Some Council Members Balk at Spending Nearly Half A Million Dollars on the City of Everett’s TV Channel
An agenda item that would allow Mayor Ray Stephenson to approve a contract worth $469,024.66 to upgrade Everett TV was pulled at the last minute Wednesday Night. Even though it was taken off the agenda, City Council member Drew Nielsen raised several questions. First he wondered how an item that went out for bid proposal last March for between 250 and 300 thousand dollars has now come back a year later as an action item to award more than 469 thousand dollars, with a new budget line of $600,000.00. He also questioned several items in the proposal including the request for a chroma key set up and studio upgrades. He also wondered what the long-range plans were for Everett TV. City staff promised to come up with answers and revisit the questions later this spring.
