The rumors continue to swirl about Everett Silvertips head coach Craig Hartsburg leaving the team after just two years to return to the NHL. Hartsburg’s name first came up as the possible head coach for the Minnesota Timberwolves. He told a Minnesota newspaper that he wasn’t even contacted by the team. That then faded away but on Friday TSN’s Bob McKenzie reported Hartsburg was being considered as an assistant for Brett Sutter and the Calgary Flames. Hartsburg was introduced as Everett’s coach on June 23rd of 2009 and last year received a contract extension thru the 2012 – 2013 season. In April, assistant coach Jay Varady left the Everett Silvertips hockey team to become a head coach in France. Here’s the twitter feed starting from Bob McKenzie and rolling back to Nick Patterson about Hartsburg’s possible departure.
