The S.M.A.R.T. was called out to this scene involving a Snohomish County Sheriff’s Deputy Saturday night.<\/p><\/div> Original Post 11\/10\/19 4:30 AM<\/strong>: The Snohomish Multi Agency Response Team is investigating after a Snohomish County Sheriff’s Deputy used deadly force in an incident Saturday night at The Stinson apartment complex on 124th street SW. Here’s the explanation from Julie Moore, PIO for the S.M.A.R.T. team.<\/p>\nDetectives with the Snohomish Multiple Agency Response Team (SMART) are investigating an deputy involved shooting of a 44-year-old man that occurred at approximately 8:00pm on Saturday, November 9 in unincorporated South Everett.<\/p>\n
Snohomish County Sheriff\u2019s Deputies were dispatched to a suicidal subject at an apartment complex in the 100 block of 124th St SE. Deputies were advised the man had a knife and had already stabbed himself. When deputies arrived, they attempted to make contact with the man and he began to advance on them. Initially the man was struck with less lethal rounds. The man continued to advance, and shots were fired. <\/p>\n
Deputies immediately rendered aid to the male, and shortly after medics from South Snohomish County Fire transported him to Providence Regional Medial Center where he later succumbed to his injuries. <\/p>\n
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner will release the identity of the individual and determine cause and manner of death. The investigation is being conducted by the Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team (SMART), a team of detectives from various Snohomish County law enforcement agencies who respond to, and investigate, police use of force incidents.<\/p>\n
When the SMART investigation is complete, results will be forwarded to the Snohomish County Prosecutor\u2019s Office for review. <\/p>\n
