Marysville Police Make Arrest in Hit and Run Resulting in a Death Case

Marysville Police ProAct team members, in collaboration with members of the Violent Offender Task Force (VOTF) and Region 1 SWAT team, participated in an operation Thursday evening that resulted in the capture of a suspect that was believed to be the driver of a vehicle involved in a felony hit-and-run incident that evolved into a homicide.

At around 7:30 PM Wednesday night, July 1st, officers responded to an incident in which a male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of a local apartment complex located in the 4800 block of 67th St., in Marysville.

The victim sustained life-threatening injuries and was quickly transported to an Everett hospital by Marysville Fire District personnel.

The suspect vehicle fled the scene. Officers were able to obtain area video footage that produced quality images of the vehicle that detectives were able to use in the initial stages of the investigation.

Detectives also learned the victim, a 43-year-old Marysville man, did not survive his injuries.

This afternoon, information was developed on a location the suspect may have been hiding. This led to the joint operation that resulted in the capture of the suspect, a 55-year-old Marysville man.

He is being booked at the Snohomish County Jail on the felony charges.
