One of Dupont’s two scores.

With a 6 to 1 win over the Chicoutimi Saguenéens, the Silvertips earned a trip to the Memorial Cup Finals.

Reaching the Memorial Cup final is a massive deal, often regarded as the pinnacle of achievement in Canadian Major Junior Hockey (CHL). 61 teams play the season; four make it to the Memorial Cup, and only two make the finals.

No NHL team has made the finals since 2014 and this is the first time the Silvertips have ever competed in the cup.

The Silvertips lead 36 shots on goal to Chicoutimi’s 26.

Here’s the scoring summary:

  • Silvertips Vaughan at 7:56 in the first period.
  • Sagueneens Lavoie at 12:01 in the first period.
  • Silvertips DuPont at 13:59 in the first period.
  • Silvertips Bear at 5:39 in the second period.
  • Silvertips Shantz at 12:35 in the second period.
  • Silvertips DuPont at 18:38 in the second period.
  • Silvertips Miettinen at 0:45 in the third period.

Projected #1 draft pick, Landon DuPont scored two goals after sitting the last game out to injury. Yesterday he celebrated his 17th birthday.

The Everett Silvertips will play in the finals in a single game, winner-takes-all match on Sunday, May 31st, 2026. The game starts at 4:00 PM PDT and can be viewed online on Victory Plus for free.

The final game will be against Kitchener Rangers who bested the Silvertips 6 to 2 in the round robin match.
