For the first time in Everett Silvertips history, the team has won the 2026 WHL Championship Series. The tips were able to close the series out early, 4 games to 1 against the Prince Albert Raiders.
The fourth game was a resounding win, with the Silvertips scoring 7 goals to 2, with a shot on goal advantage of 36 to 24.
Third time was a charm. In their third WHL Championship series, the Silvertips will be bringing home the Ed Chynoweth Cup.
Through 18 games in the WHL tournament, the Silvertips went 16-2, including an even 8-1 at home and 8-1 on the road.
Seattle Kraken prospect Julius Miettinen scored 27 points in those 18 games and defenseman Landon DuPont tallyied 23 points in 18 games.
Game four was a fantastic one for Florida Panthers prospect Shea Busch. He scored a hat trick of goals, each coming during important moments of the game.
The Silvertips will now go on to play in the Memorial Cup, which takes place from May 22nd to May 31st. The Memorial Cup crowns the winner of the entire Canadian Hockey League, consisting of 61 teams.
The Memorial Cup is a four-team tournament. The Silvertips will start play with the host team, the Kelowna Rockets. After a round robin, the 1st place team advances to the championship, while 2nd and 3rd place face off in a semi-final.
