Schack Art Center, a leading nonprofit dedicated to advancing the visual arts in our community, is pleased to announce the appointment of Raedle Alburn as its new Executive Director.

The position opened up after Judy Tuohy announced her retirement. Tuohy received the Wendt Award on April 23rd, 2026.

Alburn brings a wealth of experience in arts leadership, community engagement, and organizational development. With a strong background in arts education, special events and fundraising, she has demonstrated a deep commitment to supporting artists and expanding access to the arts for diverse audiences.

Raedle Alburn is Schack Art Center’s New Executive Director

“We are thrilled to welcome Raedle as our new Executive Director of the Schack Art Center. Her vision, experience, and passion for our mission make her an ideal leader for this next chapter.

The Board has full confidence in her ability to build on our strong foundation and guide the organization toward an impactful future.” said Rich White, President of the Board of Directors.

As Executive Director, Alburn will oversee strategic planning, fundraising, program development, and community partnerships. She will build on the organization’s legacy of current Executive Director, Judy Tuohy, who is retiring in May after 32 years as Director.  Under her visionary leadership, the organization has grown more than tenfold, evolving from a small, volunteer-driven arts group into one of the region’s most vibrant and influential visual art centers.

During Tuohy’s tenure, the Schack Art Center achieved milestones once thought unimaginable — most notably the planning, funding, and construction of its state-of-the-art facility, which now serves as a creative hub for artists, students, and community members.  The 19,000 square foot Center, located in downtown Everett features admission-free contemporary exhibitions, a curated gallery store representing over 200 local artists, hands-on classes in eight art studios, robust arts education and outreach programs and the only public glassblowing hot shop north of Seattle. This transformational project not only expanded the Center’s programming capacity but also cemented its role as a cornerstone of the local arts landscape.

“Stepping into the Executive Director role at Schack Art Center is both exciting and deeply meaningful to me. The arts are essential to a thriving community, and I’m honored to be part of an organization with such a long, dedicated history.

I look forward to continuing to steward Schack forward, expanding access to the arts, and creating more opportunities for artists and our community,” said Raedle Alburn on her new appointment.

Schack Art Center has served the community for over fifty years, providing exhibitions, education programs, and opportunities for artists to thrive. Under Alburn’s leadership, the organization aims to further its mission and expand its role as a cultural cornerstone.
