At approximately 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 22, Snohomish County Deputy Bucholtz responded to an incident at Motel 6 on 128th Street SW in Everett where a subject brandished a gun, struck a female and damaged her property.
Additionally, a bystander who witnessed the assault was threatened by the suspect with the firearm.
Upon arrival, Deputy Bucholtz was not able to locate the suspect, but passed the information along to dayshift patrol deputies.
Hours later, Deputies Tradal and Thorne were able to proactively locate the 37-year-old suspect at the Extended Stay Hotel on 112th St SE in Everett.
Deputies knocked on the door and the suspect was initially uncooperative and retreated inside his hotel room. Eventually, he surrendered and was arrested without incident.
During the arrest the suspect threw a bag from the window of the hotel room. The bag contained a large amount of narcotics packaged for sale, and a stolen firearm.
Additionally, the suspect was prohibited from owning firearms due to previous felony convictions, including prior convictions for unlawful possession of a firearm.
Inside the backpack, deputies recovered the following:
- Stolen firearm
- Fentanyl (24.5g)
- Xanax (3 pills)
- Cocaine (13.5g)
- Methamphetamine (11.2g)
- Heroin (4.6g)
- Additional substances prepackaged (17.3g)
- 12 Suboxone strips
The 37-year-old suspect was transported and booked into the Snohomish County Jail for unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, felony harassment, assault 4, brandishing a weapon, and malicious mischief.
