The Airport Way Recycling and Transfer Station (ARTS) will be closed Monday, March 9th to Sunday, March 29th for a complete tipping floor replacement in the main transfer building.

During this time, all garbage and recycling access at the Airport Way Transfer Station will be unavailable.

Tipping floor replacement is heavy-duty reconstruction or resurfacing of concrete surfaces in waste transfer stations and recycling centers. The floors get damaged by constant abrasion, impact, and corrosive liquids.

This process involves removing damaged concrete, repairing the slab, and applying a high-performance concrete overlay.

Tipping floor repair project started yesterday, March 9th, with cleaning the floor. Crews last repaired the floor in 2017.

The facility located in Everett is closed through March 29 for cutting, grinding, paving, and leveling.

Customers are encouraged to utilize the North County Recycling and Transfer Station (NCRTS) in Arlington or the Southwest Recycling and Transfer Station (SWRTS) in Mountlake Terrace during the closure.
