Everett Community Invited to Train for Community Emergency Response Team

The City of Everett’s Office of Emergency Management is inviting community members to participate in the upcoming Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Basic Academy, beginning March 3rd, 2026.

The CERT Basic Academy is a multi-week training program designed to equip residents with the skills needed to prepare for and respond to emergencies in their neighborhoods.

Classes will be held Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., March 3rd through March 26th, 2026, at the Everett Municipal Building at 2930 Wetmore Ave.

Through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on practice, participants will learn how to safely and effectively assist their families, neighbors and community members in the event of a disaster when professional responders may be delayed.

CERT training empowers residents to take an active role in emergency preparedness while strengthening community resilience and connection.

Registration is open and free to community members.

To register or learn more, contact Vickie Fontaine at 425-257-7965 or vfontaine@everettwa.gov.
