At the Pacific Northwest Aerospace Association’s Advance 2026 conference yesterday, Boeing’s GM, Katie Ringgold, announced it will open a fourth 737 MAX production line in Everett this summer.
“We’re going to start the North Line before we need it,” Ringgold said. “You should always start a big project before you need the output of that project.”
My Everett News shared these plans back in January 2023, but it is finally here, with the promise of mid-summer 2026.
The initially forecast for the North Line was a mid-2024 launch, but the midair panel blowout in January 2024 delayed Boeing’s MAX production timeline.
The new line, called the North Line, is part of the Boeing’s plans to increase production of its popular 737 MAX jet.
Production of Boeing’s 737 MAXs will continue in Renton, but the North Line, based in Everett, is an addition for the company. Currently plans are to increase production from 38 jets a month to 42, but get to a rate of 63 jets a month in the next few years.
“I am excited that Boeing will open the long-awaited fourth MAX production line in Everett this summer. Northwest Washington is home to the best aviation and aerospace workers in the world, and today’s news will create more jobs for the women and men in my district. The North Line will continue to drive our region’s aviation and aerospace economy for years to come,” says Representative Rick Larsen (WA-02).
This is great news, considering the big cuts a little over a year ago. Boeing ended 2025 with just under 182,000 workers, with 65,000 of those in Washington state.
If you visit Boeing’s career site, you’ll see the company is actively hiring for the “North Line” in Everett, WA. Recent listings include manufacturing managers for 1st and 2nd shifts, alongside positions in quality, supply chain, and engineering.
