House Fire on Wetmore in Everett

January 24, 2026

Everett Fire, Downtown Everett

A house fire was reported on the 2000 block of Wetmore Avenue in Downtown Everett around 10 pm on January 23rd.

Thankfully, there are no injuries, and the occupants were able to self-evacuate.

The Everett Fire Department said they were able to put out the fire in under an hour and went into overhaul and addressing hot spots by 11 pm.

1/24/26 Update: The owner reached out to us and commented:

It started around 9:30 pm and at 1:00 am we were still watching the flames come out the roof. This has been our family home for 58 years.

We are very grateful for all of their support and help (Everett Firefighters). I know they put their own lives at risk to try to save our family home.
Unfortunately the 2nd floor is a total loss, the main floor is flooded and the ceilings were torn down. There is not much that we will be able to salvage.

The house at 2032 Wetmore was first built in 1910. The owners hope insurance will restore it rather than tear it down.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
