On Dec. 14, 2025, the Everett Police Department made an arrest related to the recovery of an abandoned found dog tied up inside a zipped suitcase that was left in a dumpster on Nov.18, 2025.
Everett patrol officers responded to a parking lot in the 8800 block of Evergreen Way and recovered a female dog who was displaying obvious signs of neglect.
Officers transported Binny to the Everett Animal Shelter.
The dog had exposed injuries; rope tied tightly around her neck and was showing signs of malnourishment.
Officers transported the dog to the Everett Animal Shelter, where she made a full recovery, and was adopted into her fur-ever home!
Through a joint effort from EPD patrol officers, Forensic Investigation and Major Crimes Detectives, as well as Everett Animal Control officers, and other community partners, a suspect was identified and later arrested.
Binny was adopted after recovering at the Everett Animal Shelter.
Major Crimes detectives identified a suspect by using obtained photos and videos, as well as statements and tips from numerous individuals.
As a result of their investigation, detectives developed probable cause to charge the suspect with EMC 16.52.207.1 Animal Cruelty in the 2nd Degree.
After probable cause was established, the suspect was taken into custody by Everett Police patrol officers the night of December 14, 2025.
The suspect was booked at Snohomish County Jail. The suspect has a background of crimes, including felonies that lead to prison time.
