Ebey Island under the US-2 Trestle used to flood regularly, but has been held in check for decades. That may end today.
Residents of Ebey Island received messages warning of an evacuation order due to major flooding of the dikes that are expected to overflow.

12/10 9:59pm: The WSDOT warned that on & off ramps to Ebey island off US 2 are now blocked due to water on the roadway.
Water levels will top out at 33.5 feet, tying the river’s record and rising 8 feet above its threshold for flooding. The dikes could overtop midday Wednesday, flooding the island and the lowlands west of Sunnyside Boulevard.
