Police Blotter, Everett Schools

Everett Community CollegeEverett Community College (EVCC), and WSU Everett, went on full lockdown at 12:57 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21st due to police activity on campus.

Alerts that went out to students and parents.

By 1 p.m. alerts were sent to students and parents and several posts were made to social media. But it didn’t last long. By 1:11 pm the lockdown ended and all activities resumed.

Everett Police responded to reports of a disturbance involving a firearm nearby, but not on, the campus.

Police quickly responded and secured the scene.

About 10 minutes later, EvCC Security learned from law enforcement that suspects were in custody. Once the school was sure the potential threat was resolved and everyone was safe, they resumed normal operations.

At no time were any of EVCC students or staff in harm’s way.

Here’s the initial release from EVCC that showed they were taking it very serious:

EVCC EMERGENCY: Main EvCC Campus and WSU Everett are in lockdown. This is not a drill. Lock doors. Close blinds and turn out lights. Seek shelter. Avoid being seen and heard.
If you are off campus, do not come to the Main EvCC Campus or WSU Everett. If you are at the Main EvCC Campus or WSU Everett, but are not inside a building, please leave, if it is safe for you to do so.
