Everett Fire

Early this morning, Everett firefighters were called to Providence Medical Center at 1700 13th St in Everett for a fire alarm that had been activated in one of the wings on the 4th floor.

The call came in at 2:01 a.m. and 18 units responded.

After arriving firefighters found light smoke showing in the hallways. They located a piece of electrical equipment that had caught fire in the mechanical room.

The fire was quickly extinguished by using dry chem extinguishers.

Fans were used to clear the smoke, and firefighters confirmed there was no extension of fire to adjoining areas and floors.

No patients or hospital staff were impacted by this incident. There are no patients housed in this particular area of the hospital. There were no injuries.

This is just two weeks after the Providence Swedish Mill Creek Campus had a bomb scare over what turned out to be an empty cardboard box.
