A large box truck, with a gross vehicle weight of up to 26,000 pounds, nearly smashed through the front window of Escape Everett.
Escape Everett is known as a non-scary escape room, but had players been solving puzzles in the front room at the time, it would have been a horrifying experience.
Witnesses say the box truck was turning left from Maple Ave to Hewitt and kept turning, doing a full U-turn straight into the front of the building at 2920 Hewitt Ave.
Firefighters said the driver suffered a medical emergency while turning. Witnesses believe the driver recovered from what appeared to be seizures.

The truck smashed into the building, but it wasn’t enough to break the front glass of the Alice in Wonderland escape room.
The escape room was saved by the don’t walk sign on the pole in front of it.
The walk sign itself was not spared.
Aaron Davis of Creative Stylez witnessed the whole incident and describes it here:
“I was cutting my client’s hair, and out of my periphery I saw the truck slowly going towards the building, thinking that he was making a tight turn around.
Seconds later, I hear a big bang of him hitting the building.
I could see through the passenger window he was having a seizure. I was trying to open the door to check on him, but the doors was locked.”
Aaron called 911, and police showed up about seven minutes later. They had to break the window to help the driver escape. After about 10 to 15 minutes, the driver was coherent.
The building saw minimal damage. After the collision, the truck was only about an inch from the large glass window.
Public Works was on the scene just a couple hours after the incident and had two new walk signals fully replaced by 2pm.
