Downtown Everett is turning up the volume on nightlife with the launch of Late Shift Everett, a new community-driven initiative designed to reimagine the city’s after-dark experience.
Spearheaded by a coalition of local business owners and community partners, Late Shift aims to transform downtown into a walkable, vibrant, and safe destination full of music, culture, and connection.
Beyond a comprehensive events calendar featuring dozens of events each month, Late Shift is about collective momentum. Participating businesses are teaming up to create an ecosystem of late-night experiences—from live music and late-night dining to art installations and cultural pop-ups. The result: a downtown nightlife scene that’s greater than the sum of its parts.
“Late Shift is Everett’s return to rhythm—a nightlife revival built on sound, flavor, art, and energy,” said organizers of the initiative. “It’s a celebration of local talent, a boost to our economy, and an invitation for the community to reimagine what nights in Everett can feel like.”
As part of its focus on safety and accessibility, Late Shift also emphasizes walkability, with enhancements to lighting, signage, and wayfinding throughout downtown. It creates opportunities for local artists, performers, and vendors while building a bold, recognizable identity for Everett’s night scene.
First Fridays: A Monthly Downtown Experience
Late Shift Everett’s new addition is First Fridays, a monthly event series held on the first Friday of every month. These evenings turn downtown Everett into a curated cultural experience, with local businesses offering everything from DJ sets, live shows and themed menus to pop-up collaborations and immersive art.
Designed to feel spontaneous yet intentional, First Fridays encourage exploration and discovery. Visitors are invited to stroll between venues, enjoy diverse experiences, and engage with Everett’s creative community in new and unexpected ways.

A Community on the Rise

Since 2022, a new wave of business owners and venues have transformed Downtown Everett—raising the bar with a level of quality and collaboration.
These entrepreneurs aren’t just focused on what happens within the four walls of their businesses—they’re investing in the entire community. They’ve joined forces with longtime staples like Brooklyn Bros. Pizzeria, Everett Music Initiative, and others who have long championed a collaborative downtown spirit.
Newcomers like Apollo Exos (record store), MARCEL, Obsidian Beer Hall, and APEX Everett—which includes Kings Hall (an 850-cap venue), 16Eleven (upscale dining), and El Sid (cocktail bar and venue)—are not only delivering standout experiences, they’re actively promoting the broader downtown ecosystem. Venues and arts hubs like Lucky Dime and Horseshoe Bar & Cabaret also contribute to this growing, interconnected community.
This is the spirit behind Late Shift Everett—a nightlife initiative built around the big-picture goal of putting Downtown Everett’s renaissance in the spotlight. It’s driven by business owners who care deeply about delivering high-quality experiences and amplifying the strengths of their fellow downtown neighbors.
The initiative is proudly supported by the City of Everett’s Placemaking Team, the Downtown Everett Association, and the Greater Everett Chamber of Commerce—organizations working together to elevate the downtown experience and foster lasting community growth.
