Snohomish County Arts Commission Announces Inaugural Kayak Point Arts Festival

The Snohomish County Arts Commission is proud to announce the first-ever Kayak Point Arts Festival, a free, family-friendly, music-centered event taking place on Saturday, September 13, at Kayak Point Regional Park.

This all-day celebration of local music and community will feature live performances by six bands across a range of genres—including indie pop, R&B, hip hop, 90s covers, and funk.

The event is open to the public, and admission and parking are completely free.

Performances will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Confirmed performers include: LAKE, Cumulus, Heavy Bloom, Neon Brass Party, RNNRS, and No Recess.

Festivalgoers are encouraged to bring picnic lunches, folding chairs, and blankets to enjoy the music in comfort. Ice cream trucks will be on-site offering frozen treats for purchase.

“We believe in local artists and we’re investing in them,” said Kari Johnson, Chair of the Snohomish County Arts Commission. “We have some top-tier talent on tap for this festival, and we’re excited to bring music to parts of the county that may not often get to hear live performances.”

The festival is a collaborative effort between the Snohomish County Arts Commission, the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), and County Councilmembers Nate Nehring and Megan Dunn. It supports the Arts Commission’s mission to expand artistic diversity, support local artists, and foster cultural expression throughout the county.

“This festival is a first for us,” said Richard Porter, county staff liaison to the Arts Commission. “It feels rewarding to inject public art dollars into the local creative economy and directly support artists in our community.”

Washington’s creative economy represents over 9% of the state’s GDP, making it the largest creative sector of any U.S. state, surpassing even California, which comes in second at 6%. The Snohomish County Arts Commission is proud to contribute to this thriving creative landscape.

“Snohomish County has some of the most beautiful parks anywhere and some truly amazing artists and musicians,” County Executive Dave Somers said. “I appreciate the work of our dedicated Arts Commission members and everyone who has been involved in bringing this new and exciting event to the community.”
