Police Blotter, Beyond Everett

DoorDash vehicle crashed and set on fire in Lynnwood.

Not your typical food delivery. A DoorDash driver en route to make a delivery took a completely different turn.

On Thursday, August 14th, the Lynnwood Police Department was called into an unusual scene on the 5100 block of 192nd Street SW, just north of the Wendy’s on 196th Street SW.

DoorDash Crash Location in Lynnwood, WA

A DoorDash driver’s shift ended early when he crashed into a tree. After exiting the vehicle, he pulled out a lighter, opened the passenger door, and proceeded to set the car on fire by burning a cardboard box.

And if things weren’t bad enough, he decided to run away from the scene of the accident.

Officer Hydara, grabbed a fire extinguisher and knocked down the flames while Officer Magnuessen and K9 Cannon tracked the suspect straight to his hiding spot under a parked car.

Lynnwood’s drug recognition expert, Officer Orlosky, determined the suspect was high on methamphetamines. He admitted to the crash, the fire, and the run, all while he was supposed to be delivering food.

He was booked for Arson 2, DUI (drugs), and Hit-and-Run. He now sits in jail in the Snohomish County Jail in Everett. In case you were wondering, the order was never delivered.
