The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit (MCU) arrested a 3rd suspect, a 24-year-old woman, in connection to the 2022, home invasion homicide in South Everett that resulted in the death of 36-year-old Irah Sok.

Two male suspects, 28-year-old Kevin Thissel and 23-year-old Chris Johnson were arrested back in August.

Deputies were called to the home around 3 AM

The crime occurred on the 2600 block of 96th Street SE in Everett around 3 a.m. on August 19th, 2022. Officers responded to a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies located the victim, 36-year-old Irah Sok, who had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.

During the investigation, detectives learned three armed suspects kicked in the front door and forced entry into the home. The suspects went to the second floor of the residence and entered the primary bedroom. One of the suspects shot the 36-year-old victim as she lay in bed next to her 7-year-old child. The victim’s husband was forced to the floor and zip-tied by the suspects.

The three suspects ransacked the victim’s belongings and stole thousands of dollars’ worth of luxury possessions.

Once the suspects fled, the victim’s husband ran out of the residence and contacted a neighbor who called 911. The investigation continued for several months before detectives, with assistance from the Kent Police Department, got a break in the case at the end of 2022.

In August 2024, detectives announced the arrests of two suspects, 28-year-old Kevin Thissel and 23-year-old Chris Johnson of Pierce County, who remain in federal custody related to this case.

The third suspect, a 24-year-old woman, was taken into custody by the Snohomish County Violent Offender Task Force (VOTF) around 12 p.m. Wednesday in a parking lot in Renton.

She was transported and booked into the Snohomish County Jail for first-degree murder, first-degree kidnapping, first-degree burglary, first-degree robbery, and first-degree theft. Jail records show the suspects name is Keilani Rae Songcuan and she is being held on a $2 million bail.

The 24-year-old suspect is scheduled for a court hearing at 1 p.m. today in Snohomish County. This remains an active investigation.
