The stated goal of the photo enforcement program is to improve traffic and pedestrian safety on Everett’s roadways. The city looked at the data and identified the intersections and school zones with the highest frequency of crashes and/or speed violations for inclusion in this program.

The cost of the cameras and the officer that reviews the citations is self-sustaining. Any excess revenue must go towards road safety improvements.
