Everett Fire, Everett Police, and the U.S. Coast Guard are conducting a search for three people after their boat took on water and sank northeast of Mukilteo Wednesday afternoon.
The boating incident occurred in Possession Sound, just off Howarth Park.
Everett Police and Everett Fire Departments responded to an emergency call reporting a boat was sinking hundreds of feet offshore, west of Harborview Park.
A male passenger in his 50s, was rescued by passing boaters. He was transferred to emergency medical services, according to the U.S. Coast Guard Pacific Northwest.
However, the three other passengers remain missing.
The survivor mentioned that three individuals remained unaccounted for: a male in his 60s, a male in his 20s, and a female in her 40s.
Upon arrival, police and fire officials located a 26-foot vessel that was substantially submerged. Attempts were made to raise the boat and tow it to shallower waters, but despite efforts, the boat ultimately sank.
Multiple agencies responded to assist with the incident. Rescue swimmers, dive teams, marine units, drones, and additional equipment from various jurisdictions were utilized. The U.S. Coast Guard also provided assistance.
The group was reportedly out shrimping when the boat began taking on water. However, the circumstances behind the incident remain under investigation. The survivor is reportedly uninjured.

10pm Update: The Everett Police Department continues to search for the three missing individuals. As of this writing, the three individuals remain missing. These efforts will continue tomorrow. Updates will be provided as the incident progresses.
3/22/25 Update: Recovery efforts with assistance of Seattle Police Harbor Patrol were unsuccessful. Search crew stopped at 5 pm and will likely continue tomorrow.
