Today is Earth Day. Many Earth Day events took place last weekend, but many more take place this weekend. It’s a great opportunity to recycle the difficult-to-recycle items including electronics, styrofoam, and batteries.
Electronics Recycling
On Saturday, April 26, Snohomish County Dept. of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) and Public Works are hosting a free electronics recycling event at the Evergreen State Fair Park’s Red Lot.

Battery Recycling & More
Interstate All Battery Center® of Everett is hosting its 7th Annual Earth Day Recycling Event on Saturday, April 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Last year’s event brought out 2,400+ cars and helped divert 162,000 pounds of hard-to-recycle materials from landfills. Locals showed up with everything from scrap metal and batteries to paint, electronics, clothing, and food donations.
Styrofoam Recycling Event
Do you have Styrofoam occupying your home? Filling up garages, corners, and closets? Then bring your (clean) Styrofoam to WSU Everett’s FREE collection event on Saturday, April 26th from 12pm to 2pm at the Carnegie building in downtown Snohomish.

Snohomish is hosting several other Earth Day events from 1-4pm at the Carnegie building.
PUD Energy Block Party
Snohomish County PUD is hosting its Energy Block Party at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 26th at its Electric Building headquarters in downtown Everett.
This free event celebrates the 55th annual Earth Day and includes a Truckstravaganza, or Touch-a-Truck, for kids, an electric vehicle show, children’s activities, giveaways and more.
