Edgewater Bridge Replacement Moving Along

April 11, 2025

Everett

The Edgewater Bridge Replacement Project is moving along as crews are nearly finished with piling placement.

Later this month, crews will begin dismantling the existing bridge.

This video shows the drilling process for inserting the piling that will support the temporary platforms for construction:

You can follow along the process of taking down the old bridge in their live cam at everettwa.gov/edgewater.

While most of the work to this point has been below the bridge deck, “off the ground” work will begin soon. Crews will start with sawcutting, and more conventional demolition will follow that.

Work zone safety

The city of Everett would like to remind everyone that the bridge is a closed construction site, and it is not safe to cross above or below the bridge deck, and access is not permitted. Large sections of the bridge deck have been removed as have the bridge railings and the bridge is 60 feet above the creek.

Do not attempt to access the construction site or cross the bridge for any reason.

Mukilteo Boulevard will remain closed until the new bridge is complete.
