Fishing Boat Hits Dock at Langus Park in Everett

March 25, 2025

Police Blotter

This morning an anonymous reader sent in pictures of a fishing boat that hit a dock at Langus Park in Everett.

It appears to be a commercial fishing vessel. Most likely an older trawler. The only identification we see from the pictures is 70993.

The reader said the boat was unmanned when it came loose from its mooring up river.

The location of the crash looks to be the dock just north of the parking lot off Smith Island Road.

Initially we thought the boat may have been tied up at the nearby Dagmar Marina, but an operator there said it wasn’t. A tugboat operator told us this:

This derelict vessel was definitely tied UPRIVER by Hwy 2 and came loose when the river level came up due to all the rain. It drifted down with the current and hit the dock.

With the help of Google Earth, we were able to pin down the origin. The boat was docked under highway two, next to the train tracks, east of Consolidated Supply Co and Jonstone Supply, just south of Puget Sound Energy.

From list location, the boat came loose and traveled north 2.2 miles before it crashed into the dock (see map shown on the right).

The land where the dock resides is owned by Leonardo G. Estrada via LYONS II LLC. Environmental records show:

The project site is located along the left river bank of the Snohomish River, and is bounded on the north by the westbound lanes of State Route 2, and to a point roughly 400 feet south of the east bound lanes of the same route.

The current owner had intended to develop the property and use the site for fishing boat repair, fabrication consistent with the current zoning definition C‐2 Heavy commercial / Light Industrial

On November 5th, 2024, the City of Everett issued a corrective actions to cease all development until the property was brought into compliance with permitting requirements, signed by the Mayor on December 17th, 2024.

Though the land is his, the vessel may not have been owned by Estrada or Lyons II LLC. We were unable to trace vessel records, but we do know it was parked there earlier this year, but not in 2023.

We’ll post updates if we learn more.
