Everett Fire

Firefighters in Everett dealt with separate fires to start and end the day.

Early this morning, at 12:35 a.m., the Everett Fire responded to an apartment fire at Station Place Apartments at 3315 Broadway above Hopeworks Station Kindred Kitchen.

Fire crews were initially dispatched for an automatic fire alarm linked to the fire sprinkler system, which was then upgraded to a commercial fire response as residents called 911 to report smoke and flames coming from a third-story apartment.

Ladder 1 firefighters arrived to find residents of the building evacuating and a small active fire in the kitchen of a third-story unit that was being controlled by the sprinkler system.

While no injuries were reported, the apartment sustained some fire and water damage, and at least two units on the second floor and a business space on the main floor suffered water damage.

Fortunately, the quick response of firefighters, combined with the effective sprinkler system, allowed the fire to be extinguished within 20 minutes of the first crew’s arrival.

The Red Cross was contacted to support seven displaced residents due to the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Around 11:00 p.m. today, Everett Fire crews were on the scene of a reported basement fire at a home in the 2200 block of Summit.

Firefighters successfully extinguished the fire, and there are no reported injuries.

The incident is under investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
