Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens is pleased to announce the second year of Solstice Luminary Walk – a Wintertide Lights celebration.
The event is free and will take place on Saturday, December 21st, with expanded hours this year, from 5 to 7 PM at Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens, located at 145 Alverson Blvd in Everett’s Legion Park.
Singalongs with Marco Cortes and three story times held at 5:00, 5:45, and 6:30 PM. Also new this year is Hay Girl Coffee truck, with hot drinks and cool treats.
Free luminaries available at the walk are crafted from recycled milk jugs.
Artist Cindy Morris recycled plastic from the jugs to create flowers to add to her sculpture, Nebulae, installed in the ceiling of the Arboretum’s gazebo.
Kids are encouraged to bring luminaries created during the free Luminary Workshops offered in the Arboretum classroom by staff of Imagine Children’s Museum. The last class is December 14th from 4-6 PM.
Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in an evening of wonder, music and story as they stroll with luminaries through the beautifully illuminated gardens adorned with captivating lights.
“We are excited to invite the community to join us for an evening celebrating the solstice amid the serene beauty of the gardens,” says Renee Greenleaf, Chief Elf of Wintertide Lights. “The response last year was incredible. We hope by expanding to a two-hour event with three story times that guests will have greater flexibility when choosing when to arrive.”
Wintertide Lights and Solstice Luminary Walk are only possible with the generous support of the City of Everett, many dedicated volunteers and private donors whose contributions fuel the enthusiasm year after year.
